We believe that all learners in Ontario schools should have access to all curriculum learning opportunities. The Health And Physical Education Curriculum Grades 1-8 (2019) and Grades 9-12 (2015) curriculum include a range of concepts and topics appropriate to each age group focussed on Human Development and Sexual Health to develop the health literacy of all students. We acknowledge that translations apps and websites do not translate all academic language accurately with meaning.
The Human Development and Sexual Health Terms have been professionally translated to offer Ontario educators, multilingual learners and their families opportunities to communicate, build knowledge and ask questions using accurate language to futher develop health literacy.
Thank you to a partnership between ERGO members and the Ontario Assosciation for the Support of Physical Education (OASPE) members for creating this list of terms for grades 1-12. Thank you to funding provided by the Ontario Secondary School Teacher's Federation (OSSTF) for this work. Thank you to educators from various boards across the province that contributed to the development of these resources.
